Expertise:
Rex specialises in corporate finance work, representing both publicly traded and privately owned clients. He has worked on numerous mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, fund raisings, private equity investments, management buy-outs and joint ventures, guiding clients on legal, structural and financial issues. He also advises clients on corporate restructures and refinancing.
Rex’s strategic advice is also sought by individuals and organisations involved in complex and high profile negotiations and disputes.
Recent Work:
Rex recently advised Anthony Mascolo, the International Creative Director of TIGI International and of Toni & Guy USA, on the $411.5 million sale of the global TIGI professional hair products business and its supporting advanced education academies to Unilever. Rex also acted for ENIC International on its purchase of shares in Tottenham Hotspur from Sir Alan Sugar and its related £210 million bid for the club.
Career:
Rex joined the firm in 1984, becoming Managing Partner in 1996. His career started at City firm Herbert Smith where he spent five years. Rex was seconded to a major New York law firm where he worked for a former US ambassador to the UK. Rex qualified as a solicitor in 1981, became a member of the New York bar in 1987 and an accredited mediator in 1999.
