Rebecca advises both employers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship, both contentious and non-contentious.
Rebecca has longstanding client relationships and handles a wide array of matters, from drafting contracts and providing practical training to dealing with senior exits and issues regarding restrictive covenants. She has worked on major M&A and business transactions and has guided businesses through complex restructuring exercises.
She is adept at advising senior-executives through grievance, disciplinary, redundancy and TUPE processes, and regularly secures favourable exits. Understanding that her employee clients are often in stressful situations, her practical, measured advice and empathetic negotiation style has led clients to describe her as “immensely clever & intuitive”.
She represents clients in litigation involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract in the Employment Tribunal and High Court.
Advised a Company regarding the alleged misuse by its employees of confidential information belonging to a competitor
Acted for an employer facing an automatically unfair dismissal claim from a former employee, and persuaded the Claimant to withdraw her claim
Achieved a substantial financial settlement for a senior executive in respect of her disability discrimination claim.
Successfully negotiating a settlement on behalf of an employee who had taken confidential information from a former employer which avoided the substantial stress, time and expense of injunction proceedings in the High Court.
