Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 at Wallace
Wallace was delighted to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 with clients, contacts and colleagues at a special panel event focused on this year’s IWD theme of #GiveToGain hosted by Sarah Merriott from our Corporate and Commercial team.
The event brought together professionals from across a range of sectors to discuss the importance of mentorship and sponsorship and the different roles they can both play in supporting career development and creating inclusive workplaces.
We were thrilled to welcome an excellent panel of speakers, comprising Shereen Ritchie, a founder of Boardwalk Mentoring, Peter Sheppard, the Head of Learning Impact, Innovations & Skills at EY and Joanna Thornton ICF ACC of Joanna Thornton Coaching.
The discussion was brilliantly led by Caroline Boston of New Minds who chaired a thoughtful conversation exploring how giving time, support and advocacy to others can create meaningful opportunities and drive positive change.
The panel shared valuable insights on the practical impact of mentoring and sponsorship, highlighting how these relationships can help build confidence, open doors and support long-term professional growth. We were delighted that one of our guests described the discussion as “gold dust”.
We would like to thank our speakers and everyone who joined us for helping to make the morning such an engaging and inspiring practical discussion.
Sarah Merriott, Senior Associate at Wallace, commented: “It was a pleasure to host another successful event that brings together such a diverse group of clients and contacts to celebrate International Women’s Day and discuss this year’s #GiveToGain theme. The conversation highlighted just how important mentorship and sponsorship are and the role we can all play in helping individuals build confidence, develop their careers and create opportunities for others.”
