Digital Transformation at Speed

Covid-19 is the wrecking ball on the C-suite’s reluctance to embark upon digital transformation. With many people now working from home, there has been a massive uptick in cloud adoption. Many businesses were unprepared for this. Of course, a jump into cloud now is better than the business failing, but when the dust settles it is probably worth a look at what you signed up for.

You should review the contract to check the following:

  • Check the Service Level Agreement. Does it do what you need it to? Are there service credits and are they worth the bother?

  • Does a move to cloud mean you lose control over how you deploy your IT? What happens to your IT staff?

  • Data. Where is it stored? Is it secure? Whose responsibility is that? Is it backed-up? What’s the provider’s stance on GDPR?

  • How long is the contract term? Can you end the contract after the lockdown? Can the provider even if you’re not ready? Can you migrate back in-house or to another provider?
