Wallace advises the shareholders of Digital marketing agency Webcertain on the sale to Transperfect

The Wallace corporate team has advised Webcertain’s founder, Andy Atkins-Krüger and his co-owner, Philip Hopkinson, on the sale of Webcertain to New York-based “super agency” TransPerfect.

Webcertain is a UK-based multi-lingual web marketing agency.  The Webcertain team numbers over 100 members split between its offices in York and Barcelona.  Webcertain maintains a proprietary digital marketing technology, Global Central, which it has developed over the years to provide on-line marketing and content optimisation in a client’s target languages.

On the rationale behind the deal, TransPerfect’s CEO, Phil Shawe explained, “We are seeing a sizable increase in the need for culturally- and market-specific digital marketing strategies, and it takes significant expertise and resources to meet these client requirements — something that Webcertain brings to the table”.

Webcertain will continue to operate as its own division within the TransPerfect organization.

John Woodhouse led the Wallace team alongside fellow corporate partner Charlotte Wheeldon.  Corporate associate Sabrina Mitchell and corporate paralegal Stephanie Claridge completed the Wallace team.

Founder Andy Atkins- Krüger commented:

“It was the first time we had worked with John and the team at Wallace's but what a great decision that was.  Each of John, Charlotte, Sabrina and Stephanie focused on different aspects of the transaction which made them particularly effective and never wanting for resources even when the clock was putting us under pressure.  They showed tremendous patience when the pressure of the deal led to frustrations on our side and carefully guided us around the pitfalls.  They were also adept at guiding the TransPerfect legal team around our redlines delivering time after time.  We couldn't have asked for better support and would work with them again in a heartbeat.  And to top it, they were an absolute pleasure to work with!”
